Despicable Me – Minion Cut Out

Minions assemble!! I found a minion cutout on Pinterest yesterday and in honor of seeing the second movie today, I decided to make the little guy.

Minion cutout from the movie Despicable Me.

Despicable Me Minion Cutout

I quickly learned that this is NOT A CRAFT FOR YOUNG KIDS!! There are some very tight corners to cut around the thin white strips need to be cut so you can connect the sides. The double lines on the torso need to be cut so you can insert the arms, and the two lines on the bottom of the head need to be cut to attach to the torso. To make these tiny cuts I used a needle and lightly scraped over the area until it went through the thin lines. I imagine you could also use an x-acto knife, or any other small object that could cut exact areas.

He was a little difficult to put together so I used stick glue to keep the sides attached. This worked really well. Now, may I present… My Minion:

What I Would Change:
Be more careful about bending the corners exactly and have the glue handy at the start.

This is awesome, cute, adorable, fun, and the best part… FREE!
