Home Remedies for a Stiff Neck

I overdid my workout last week resulting in a pretty stiff neck. I took it easy but after a few days it was still bothering me. Yesterday I finally decided it was time to do something about it.

I found this list of 14 home remedies for a stiff neck. One was bound to help me.

1. Massage

2. Heating Pad

3. Ice Packs

4. Over-the-counter Medicines

5. Epsom Salt

6. Hot Water Shower

7. Apply Balm

8. Apple Cider Vinegar

9. Exercise

10. Skin Scrapping

11. Acupuncture

12. Magnesium Tablets

13. Celery Leaves

14. Horse Radish (Sahijan)

I tried the first three methods. I started with the massage method. This felt good, but the relief was temporary. I had two charlie horse knots on either side of my neck and simple massage wouldn’t cut it. Next on the list was heating pad. This felt great to loosen the knots. After the heat pad had fully sunk in, I began to rub out the knots. This helped a lot but the muscles in my neck were still stiff. I began to alternate between the heat pad and an ice pack. By the time I was ready for bed I could move my neck without much discomfort and by the time I woke up my neck felt just like new again.
